SBI SCO Recruitment 2026: State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for SBI Specialist Cadre Officers (SCO) Recruitment 2026 for engagement of Specialist Cadre Officers in the Wealth Management business on a contract basis. Under Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/23, SBI has notified 207 regular vacancies and 76 backlog vacancies, making 283 listed vacancies across seven posts: Zonal Head (Retail), Regional Head, Relationship Manager–Team Lead, Investment Specialist, Investment Officer, VP Wealth and AVP Wealth. Educational Qualification

The qualification and experience requirements are different for each Specialist Cadre Officer post. Candidates should carefully match their educational background and professional experience with the particular post before applying.

1. Zonal Head (Retail)

The Zonal Head is responsible for managing wealth-management sales in the allocated zone, increasing Total Relationship Value (TRV) and Assets Under Management (AUM), managing RM teams and acquiring HNI/Affluent customers.

2. Regional Head (RH)

Experience: Minimum 12+ years in Relationship Management, preferably Wealth Management, with leading Public/Private/Foreign Banks, Wealth Management Firms or AMCs. At least 5+ years of experience leading a large team of RMs or Team Leads is preferred.

The Regional Head will manage Relationship Managers, Team Leads and Investment Officers and work toward growth in AUM, investment AUM, customer relationships and business targets.

3. Relationship Manager – Team Lead

The role includes managing a team of Relationship Managers, acquiring and developing Affluent/HNI customers, selling investment and insurance products, portfolio review, financial needs analysis and maintaining compliance.

4. Investment Specialist (IS)

The candidate should have good knowledge of investments and markets across asset classes, portfolio management, asset allocation and rebalancing, fixed income, equity and alternative products.

5. Investment Officer (IO)

The Investment Officer assists the Wealth team with investment opinions, financial needs, investment-product presentations, market research, portfolio reviews and client guidance.

6. VP Wealth

The position focuses on Affluent and UHNI/HNI customers, sales, relationship management, AUM growth, investment and insurance products, portfolio review and branch development.

7. AVP Wealth

Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills along with financial expertise and a client-centric approach are required.

Important Circle Preference Rule

Candidates applying for the five circle-based posts must provide three different Circle preferences. Repeating the same Circle is not permitted.

SBI states that:

  • Three different Circles must be selected.
  • Circle preference cannot be changed later.
  • If a candidate does not receive the preferred Circle, SBI may consider the candidature for another Circle.
  • Posting requests for a specific place may not be entertained.
  • SBI reserves the right to transfer officers to other SBI offices, subsidiaries or organisations according to service requirements.

For example, the Chennai Circle has 6 VP Wealth and 2 AVP Wealth regular vacancies, totalling 8 regular vacancies across these two posts.

The annual CTC is negotiable and depends on the candidate’s experience, current emoluments and place of posting. The figures are upper ranges rather than guaranteed fixed salaries.

The notification also provides an annual increment band of up to 25% for most posts, while the Regional Head has an increment band of up to 20%.

Contract Period

All selected officers will be engaged on a 5-year contract.

For the Zonal Head post, the contract may be renewed for another four years at SBI’s discretion, subject to fulfilment of conditions stipulated by the Bank.

The contract may be terminated by either side by giving two months’ notice or by payment/surrender of two months’ compensation in lieu of notice.

Leave

Officers engaged on contract are entitled to 30 days of leave during a financial year, which will be granted by SBI for genuine and appropriate reasons.

Selection Process

The SBI SCO Wealth Management Recruitment 2026 selection process consists of:

Shortlisting

Meeting the minimum qualification and experience requirements does not automatically guarantee an interview.

Interview

CTC Negotiation

Merit List

The final merit list will be prepared in descending order based on interview scores only.

If two or more candidates obtain the same cut-off score, the candidate who is older will be ranked higher.

Experience Verification

SBI may verify professional experience through documents such as:

Experience of less than six months in any organisation will not be considered for eligibility, and teaching/training experience will not be counted.

Important Reservation Information

Candidates claiming OBC reservation must belong to the Non-Creamy Layer category and submit the prescribed Government of India certificate.

The notification states that the OBC-NCL certificate should be issued during the specified period from 01.04.2026 to the date of interview, if called.

EWS candidates must possess the prescribed Income & Asset Certificate for the relevant financial year before the closing date of the online application.

PwBD reservation is horizontal and is included within the respective parent category vacancies.

The notification contains specific restrictions for certain candidates who participated in earlier Wealth Management & Premier Banking recruitment exercises.

Candidates who received an offer in an earlier recruitment but did not join can be debarred from applying for two years from the date of non-joining.

Similarly, candidates who were previously engaged on contract for the posts covered by this advertisement and later resigned may be debarred from applying for two years from the date of resignation.
