• UR candidates must secure at least 32/80 marks; reserved-category candidates must secure 24/80 where the relevant post is reserved.
• The Skill Test for Technical Assistant and Technician ‘B’ is conducted on a GO/NO-GO basis and does not carry marks for final selection.
• The Skill Test is for 100 marks, with 50 marks required for UR candidates and 40 marks for reserved candidates where applicable.
• Candidates qualifying in the Written Test are shortlisted for the Skill Test in a 1:5 ratio, with a minimum of 10 applicants for a post.
• Final selection is based on Written Test marks among candidates who qualify the Skill Test.
• For Fireman ‘A’, candidates qualifying in the Written Test and meeting PME norms are shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test in a 1:50 ratio.
• Fireman ‘A’ candidates must qualify all required PET events before proceeding to Detailed Medical Examination.
• In case of a tie in Written Test marks, the academic score of the notified qualification is used as the tie-breaker.

For Technical Assistant post codes 60–62, the question paper will be bilingual in English and Hindi. For Technician ‘B’, Cook ‘A’ and Fireman ‘A’, the question paper will be trilingual in Tamil, Hindi and English.
